Happy 50th Birthday Mr Mow!

Ξ May 10th, 2008 | → | ∇ Misc |

Please go check out www.MrMow.co.uk the coolest, Cornish grass cutters site! This website has been designed as a Happy 50th Birthday present for my Dad, Mr Lou Mason AKA Mr Mow or Grampy, sometimes he’s even called Gumpy or Grumpy Grampy although its best that the last two are ignored ;0)

The reason for giving Mr Mow the website is to drum up some custom for him to begin mowing peoples lawns as a business, at present he is enjoying working full time very successfully in a managerial position, but we need something to keep him busy at the weekends, evenings and looking forward even further, for when he retires.

A bit about Mr Mow, well you know how old he is (50, the old git) he is married to my lovely Mom, Sue Mason and has been since forever. Before I came along there was my sister, the now half Aussie, Lily Mason, she’s the brains of the family, her 33rd Birthday is four days after Mr Mows, so Happy Birthday Sis! Lily is very successful in her job in Australia, and lives with her boyfriend Jonathon.

Then there was me, I’m going to be 28 this year, not quite the baby of the family any longer. I’m married to Nathan (the web designer / art consultant). I’m an Artist (shameless self promotion) and the one who gave them four lovely Granddaughters to baby-sit for, aren’t they lucky?

Mr Mow came from Birmingham originally where her grew up and worked all sorts of weird and wonderful jobs. We moved to Brixham in Devon to live by the seaside in about 1987 I think and he and Mom used to amongst other things, buy, renovate and sell houses back then, then we were off to Torquay in about 1994 ish, Mr Mow got a Degree in something clever (I’m in so much trouble for not remembering) and he did lecturing at South Devon College for some years, I can’t remember which year Lily moved to Australia, it was around that point, but I’m sure she’ll put it on here, then off to live in the beautiful Cornish countryside Cornwall in about 2003.

They purchased a building near Camelford in dire need of renovation and have been doing the place up since, combining modern conveniences and luxury whilst maintaining the historic integrity, re-using as much original materials as possible, (they are very Eco’ friendly) the building is now looking grand and their land surrounding it is coming on leaps and bounds too as Mr Mow has always been an outdoorsy type, loves walking on the moor and of course loves his lawn mower and can be found hurtling (sort of) around his stretch of field at the back of their place with mad puppy Labradors Rebus and Ellie.

He’s a proper Dad and Grampy, enjoying all the usual bloke stuff like fishing, football, snooker, beer, BBQs, gardening and hiding in his shed! Mr Mow has done so many other things, but I would go on forever if I told all.

I think that’s about enough from me, hopefully I’ve given a rough enough idea of what Mr Mow is all about,  needless to say he has all of the appropriate machinery and experience (50 years old LOL) for any gardening job!

What a lovely thing to do for dad! He must be dead chuffed. I hear you had a great night out, and got the restaurant singing him Happy Birthday. I can imagine him cringing!! By the way, we moved to Brixham in 1988 and I moved to Australia in November 1999. And I’m not so much the brains of the family, more the anal retentive of the family:)

P.S. Your Wild Strawberries painting would be perfect for my new house!!

Yes, Dad was cringing, he tried to squirm out of it asking Mom to bring the cake home! No chance.

I will do you a ‘Wild Strawberries’ as a moving in pressie, just wish we could come to the house warming party:0(

Ha, got you, you proved your braininess by remembering the moving dates! Or perhaps its just that you little sister is a goldfish?

    xxxxxxxx
