In need of some heavy metal alien vampires…… wouldn’t mind a bit of HIM ;0)

I have listened to this album sooo very much since its been out and i love it, Hubby isnt too keen, he preferred Type’O'negative’s older stuff and i do too, but Dead Again is just perfect to listen to whilst I’m painting.

TypeOnegative

I’m definitely more into metal, but sometimes i need the mellow stuff! Hence Ive also been enjoying listening to HIM’s Venus Doom, I was amused by Ville Valo calling himself a ‘romantic wanker’ LOL. Still haven’t heard any of their older stuff, I’m told its better, but i rather like their new album as it is!

Ive listened to a bit of Opeth too and I’m definitely in need of getting hold of some more of their stuff.

I want to go to Download this year to see some of the line-up like; HIM, Disturbed, Cavalera Conspiracy, Kid Rock, Apocalyptica, Children of Bodom and Jonathan Davis, they are all very groovy, but like lots of other people, I’m not too impressed withthe main headliners, why aren’t they Metal? I can understand that Kiss are good fun, i saw them at Monsters of rock in 1996 and they were great, a bit like Offspring, they have had their day! There are so many obvious choices they could have gone for to improve the line-up derrrrrrr. Perhaps its a Friday 13th thing? Rant over.

As for telly, Bones is back, Yippie doos! Still in need of some decent Sci-fi though, did enjoy the snippet we got over Easter with the Ark of Truth. I don’t watch any soaps or that type of TV whatsoever, so i don’t really watch too much telly, if anyone has any good recommendations? Generally i like it if it contains vampires or aliens! Alison is always good for recommendations, go check out her blog:

My kind of classics

Ξ May 27th, 2007 | → 2 Comments | ∇ Music And Television |

Whilst shopping for a new outfit for the eldest, the kilt I bought for her reminded me of the one Lydia (Winona Ryder- Im a big fan!)  wore in Tim Burtons’ Beetlejuice, one of my favourite films, I would have been about 9 when it came out. Anyway it started me thinking of some of the fantastic films I watched and that the girlies have missed out on, im going to try and get hold of some of them.

Can’t have them growing up not having seen classics like Labyrinth, I’ve got an image of David Bowie in my head, chicken kicking! If that’s what those creatures were? And for so long anything even vaguely stinky got labelled the bog of eternal stench.

Speaking to hubby about his memories of cool films and he said ‘Never ending story’, think I must have missed out on that one, big flying dog? LOL

One of my best friends used to love the film Grease, it bored the life out of me, she used to put it on constantly, evil girl! That’s what friends are for.

The Wizard of Oz films on the other hand were soooooooo cool, I suppose I should really know who made them but I don’t, I wish I knew which film it was with all of the scary heads in the cabinets,  I loved that one, perhaps Return to Oz or something? I wear a pair of metallic red soft leather slip-ons, I adore them, how old am I?

What are your old favourites?
